We joined a tasting tour at The Macallan Distillery in Speyside. It was a little pricey and we almost hesitated, but we took the plunge and went. It seems to have been renovated a while back, and it was such a hotel-like space that we found ourselves doubting whether whisky was really made here. Here's a look at our tasting tour. - Page 6

It's not Scotch, but there's The English Whisky Distillery in England (outside Cambridge), so we went to visit. It takes about two hours even from Stansted Airport, north of London. When we went, there was only one train a day that stopped at the nearest station — they were even worried about whether it was really okay for us to get off here. We enjoyed an atmosphere a little different from Scotland, so let me tell you about it. - Page 6

We took about an hour from Aberdeen to reach Royal Lochnagar Distillery. Our tour guide was a wonderfully energetic, unique person and great fun, and it was a tour that made us appreciate all over again the might of Diageo — a small distillery that survives precisely because it makes the malt for Johnnie Walker Blue Label. Here's a look at our visit. - Page 6
