Here's a list of Scottish whisky distilleries that offer tours. This isn't all of them, but for us who visited 50, just researching whether they were open to the public or not was quite a task, so please use this as a reference. Except for Talisker and Torabhaig, we went to everywhere by public transport or taxi, so I've noted recommended bases for going by train or bus.

We went to visit Yamaga Whisky Distillery in Kumamoto Prefecture, which opened in 2022. What impressed us most was that the clear new pot, before it becomes whisky, was sweet and delicious. Here's a look at our visit and what we bought as souvenirs.
Kanosuke Whisky Distillery Tour Review[photos]Kagoshima,Japan
We went to Kanosuke Distillery in western Kagoshima Prefecture. Over three days and two nights, we visited three distilleries(Yamaga/Tsunuki). The last one we went to was Kanosuke Distillery, and the tour and the tasting venue with a view of the sea were the best.
Gaiaflow Shizuoka Whisky Distillery Tour Review[photos]Japan
At the end of April 2023, we went to visit Gaiaflow Shizuoka Distillery. There was a bus from Shizuoka Station timed to the distillery tour, but ours was quite a whirlwind trip — a day trip from Osaka, driving about four and a half hours each way. I'd love you to hear the details and experience it at the distillery, but here I'd like to introduce how we enjoyed it.
