We moved to the town of Brora, and from there went to Clynelish Distillery.
Following Caol Ila, it’s another distillery that provides a Johnnie Walker malt, with a Striding Man statue.
The tour’s staging was very lavish — very much a “that’s Diageo for you!” feel.
Here’s a look at our visit.

Features of the Distillery
It’s in Brora, 90 km north of Inverness, and was established in 1819.
Clynelish means “golden marsh.”
In 1967 a new distillery was built next door and took the name Clynelish, while the original distillery was renamed Brora.
It’s also famous as a Johnnie Walker malt. Floral with a spicy taste.

We walked more than about 20 minutes from Brora station.

The Distillery’s Exterior
It stood grandly on a large site.
It was a very stylish, modern building.
Brora Distillery is next door.
The Tour We Joined
They introduced Clynelish’s history with a magnificent presentation. We also stamped a stamp like this at that time.
They showed us around inside the distillery.
For the final tasting, we had Johnnie Walker again.

Shop and Bar
There’s a shop on the first floor, and after checking in we had time before the tour, so they let us take a break at the bar on the second floor.
It was just before Christmas, and upstairs the locals were putting up Christmas decorations and the like.
Summary
We got to meet our second Striding Man in the Highlands.
We didn’t know much about Johnnie Walker, but we got to experience firsthand how it makes the most of the distinctive whiskies from four regions.
You don’t often find such a lavish tour, so please do go and enjoy this cinema-like tour.
